POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Metro Driving School uses the authorized Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Junior Operator License Drivers Education Curriculum. A learner''s permit is not required to begin the classroom portion of drivers education, however it is required for the on-the-road lessons.

Full Course Consists of the:

  • 30 hours of classroom instruction covering the RMV 15 Modules

  • 12 hours on-the-road training

  • 6 hours of observation

  • 2 hour Mandatory Parent Class

  • RMV approved Final Exam

Special Note:

Since not all students use the Driving School Vehicle for their Road Test, the separate fee for use of our vehicle and time as your test sponsor is NOT part of the tuition and is based on which RMV testing station your road test is at.

Drivers Ed Certificates

  • Once a student satisfactorily completes all MA RMV Drivers Education Requirements, the RMV will create their Drivers Ed Certificate number in the RMV system. A $15 fee is due to the RMV for this, which is processed through the driving school to the RMV.

  • In addition to gaining the skills and knowledge that enable you to be a good safe driver for the rest of your life, the Drivers Ed Certificate enables you to get any discount that your insurance company may offer.

Road Test Information

  • Once a JOL student has had their Learners Permit to be practicing for 6 months and has successfully completed Drivers Education they are eligible to have their road test scheduled.

  • If Metro Driving School is taking you for your road test as your sponsor (standard situation), we will schedule your road test for you.

  • If you are using your own vehicle and taking the road test on your own, you will schedule your own road test.

Missed Classes/Cancellation Policy

  • If a student misses one of the classroom RMV module sessions, they must make up the exact module session they missed.

  • All Drivers Education requirements must be completed within 1 year of your start date to avoid additional fees.

  • If a student' needs to change, cancel or postpone an On-The-Road Driving Lesson for any reason, they must do so with at least 24 hours notice or there is a $45 fee.

All payments are non-refundable.
